Who we build for
Thriftox is built for solo resellers and small sellers sourcing in stores, bins, and marketplaces who need faster pricing decisions without spreadsheet chaos. The loop is aisle-first: photograph the tag and item, read a conservative resale band, subtract realistic fees and shipping, then buy or skip before you reach the register.
If you already flip on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, or Whatnot, the product is meant to sit in your pocket between racks — not replace your seller hub. Inventory, optional listing drafts, and Live Feed sharing exist so a scan can become a tracked item. You still photograph, write, ship, and handle buyers yourself.
What we do not do
We do not authenticate luxury goods, guarantee profit, or auto-list on your behalf. You review every listing before it goes live. We do not promise a dollar-per-hour income, a rank on Google, or that sold comps will match the piece in your hand. Poor photos, missing brands, and rare variants widen the estimate and should bias you toward skip.
Founder note
Thriftox started as a practical scanner for in-aisle decisions — profit math and honest disclaimers come before growth hype. Valleytainment built it because tab-switching through sold listings on a phone in a fluorescent aisle is slow, and a wrong buy is inventory you then have to store, list, and ship. The product exists to make the skip cheaper than the impulse cart.
How a scan is supposed to feel
Keep the store tag in frame when you can. Note flaws in the photo, not later at home. Read the low end of the band first. If projected net after fees and a realistic ship cost is thin, put the item back. Saving a winner with actual store cost is how inventory stays honest. If the model is unsure, that uncertainty is the answer — not a prompt to round up.
